Duffen - Something happened

Hull City chairman Paul Duffen has welcomed the Football Association's investigation into the spitting row involving Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. Tigers assistant manager Brian Horton has contacted the League Managers Association after Fabregas allegedly spat at him in the aftermath of Hull's 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night. Fabregas has issued a statement insisting that he is innocent while Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he knows nothing of the incident. Duffen, though, told Sky Sports News: "Without a doubt, something happened. "Unfortunately, I can't say too much about it now because the FA have launched an enquiry and I am sure they will find out exactly what happened and establish what needs to be done as a result of that. "As far as we are concerned, we know what happened. Many members of our staff and team know what happened, so we welcome the enquiry totally. "It is a very simple thing, it is cause and effect and it needs to be sorted out. I am very happy the FA have launched an enquiry." Arsenal's late winner against Hull came in controversial circumstances as William Gallas headed home when seemingly in an offside position. Of the disappointing loss, Duffen added: "To have it stolen from us from what is undoubtedly an offside goal hurts. But that is football and we are big boys, and we move on."
