Duffen - Accusations are true

Hull City chairman Paul Duffen has backed Phil Brown after the Football Association announced the Tigers boss and Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas have been charged with improper conduct.[LNB] The charges come as a result of the pair's behaviour during Arsenal's 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Hull at Emirates Stadium in mid-March.[LNB]Gunners midfielder Fabregas, who did not play in the fixture due to a knee injury, was accused of spitting at Tigers assistant manager Brian Horton in the aftermath of the match.[LNB]Brown maintained he saw Fabregas spit towards Horton in the tunnel at the end of the match, and now the FA has charged the Spain international, on two counts, and the Hull manager.[LNB]Duffen is confident the truth will surface, insisting that he is certain Brown and Horton's version of events are factual.[LNB]UnambiguousHe told Sky Sports News: "We fully welcomed an inquiry by the FA to establish the facts.[LNB]"And I never doubted that Phil and Brian's comments would be validated to the extent they have been by the charges being brought, because I know that they told the truth.[LNB]"I was personally horrified by some of the wider press reaction to the accusations that were made by Phil and Brian following the game at the Emirates.[LNB]"As far as I am concerned, the most important thing is that everybody understands that everything they said was true. We will see what happens as the process unfolds."[LNB]Fabregas denied any wrongdoing and, after studying reports and video evidence, Gunners coach Arsene Wenger maintained that there is not a case against the midfielder.[LNB]However, Duffen said: "I have seen the video evidence and I think it is totally unambiguous."[LNB]
