Dowie hopeful over Dawson injury

Hull boss Iain Dowie is crossing his fingers Andy Dawson will prove his fitness ahead of Saturday's key Premier League clash at Birmingham.[LNB] The defender was stretchered off early in the second half as the Tigers went down to a disappointing 4-1 defeat at home to Burnley.[LNB]The scoreline was 1-1 at the time and Dowie admits it was a blow to lose such a key player with the game delicately poised.[LNB]However, scans have shown that Dawson suffered nothing more than bruising to his leg and he is now in contention for the trip to St Andrews.[LNB]Dowie will wait until nearer kick-off before making a decision but believes there is a good chance Dawson will be available.[LNB]"I hope he will make it for the weekend," Dowie told the club's official website.[LNB]"It was a nasty blow to his leg and we lost him at a crucial time in the game.[LNB]"We are hopeful and we'll see how he is over the next day or so."
