Dawson backs under-fire Brown

Andy Dawson believes the criticism levelled at Hull City manager Phil Brown is 'very harsh'. Some sections of the Tigers support have called for Brown to be sacked after a poor start to the season, culminating in an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at Liverpool at the weekend. After leading the club into the top flight for the first time in their history last year Brown guided the Tigers to safety on the final day of the season. However, after taking the Premier League by storm in the first few months of last term Hull have recorded just two league victories from 25 games since the turn of the year. Despite the shocking run, Dawson cannot fathom how Brown can be criticised given how far he has brought the club since he took charge nearly three years ago. "I think the criticism is very harsh," the Tigers defender said. "What the manager has done at this club over the last two and a half years has been fantastic. "We stayed up last season and if you take the last couple of weeks out of it, none of the talk has been there."
