Cousin blow for Tigers

Hull City have been dealt an injury blow with the news Daniel Cousin faces around two weeks on the sidelines.[LNB] The powerful front-man has suffered a meniscus tear in his knee that will require a minor operation.[LNB]Cousin had hoped to play through the pain barrier and delay going under the knife until the summer but this plan has been vetoed by the club.[LNB]The Frenchman's unavailability leaves Tigers boss Phil Brown somewhat short of strikers, with Dean Windass out on loan at Oldham and Marlon King having left the KC Stadium for Middlesbrough.[LNB]Earlier in the season Cousin's team-mate Bernard Mendy suffered a similar injury and made a return within a couple of weeks.[LNB]OperationBrown said: "Daniel needs a minor operation. It was first assessed on Monday and Daniel was quite adamant that he didn't need one.[LNB]"But he has understood that we have top-class medical people at the club and he now needs an operation.[LNB]"We may have wasted two or three days but he is going in tomorrow.[LNB]"I don't know how long he will be out for but we have a history at this football club of getting (players with) meniscus back on the training ground after 10 days."[LNB]
