Hull defender Liam Cooper has returned to the club after his 28-day loan at Carlisle came to an end. Cooper made seven appearances during two separate month long spells with the Cumbrians but has decided to move back to the Tigers in a bid to break into Nigel Pearson's first-team squad. Manager Greg Abbott was impressed with Cooper's professionalism during his time at Brunton Park. "Liam's loan spell is up this week and he's informed us that he does not want to extend it further," he told the club's official website. "He hasn't been playing as much recently and now wants to go back to Hull to try and impress there in the last few weeks of the season. We wanted to keep him but he's decided not to stay and you have to respect that. "His attitude over the last few months has been first class and he has been a joy to work with. We wish him all the best for the future and will continue to monitor his progress."
