Cairney has bright future - Boateng

George Boateng believes Hull midfielder Tom Cairney has the potential to become one of England's future stars. The 19-year-old only signed his first professional contract last summer but he has already proved a big hit at the KC Stadium, where he has impressed alongside Dutchman Boateng in the centre of midfield. The Tigers academy graduate looks set for a long spell in the first team with long-term absentee Jimmy Bullard still a long way off full fitness. Boateng is confident that the youngster can play an important part in Hull's fight against relegation and then go on to star in the limelight on the international stage. "He's my boy, I like him a lot," said Boateng. "What pleases me is that when I give him the ball, I can trust him with it. In the middle of the park there is nothing more valuable than that. "Tom is a player who is going to get a lot of publicity in the next few weeks from the press and from our fans. I hope he stays grounded because he's a tremendous talent and if he works on his game, he'll be an England international - he's that good."
