Phil Brown will hold talks with Adam Pearson today as the returning Hull chairman decides whether to sack the manager or hand him a reprieve.[LNB]Even though Pearson's appointment will not be confirmed until Monday, he has been speaking regularly with Brown since Thursday to find a way of solving Hull's crisis, which intensified after this defeat left them just a point clear of bottom club Portsmouth.[LNB]Former Hull player Steve McClaren is in the running for Brown's job along with more realistic targets such as Pearson's former employee at Derby, Paul Jewell. Brown, meanwhile, said he is confident that he will still be managing Hull in the Premier League next year.[LNB] Out of luck: Hull players bemoan one of several decisions by referee Mike Jones[LNB]'Adam Pearson brought me back into the game as a coach then gave me an opportunity to manage at this level so I've got nothing but thanks,' said Brown.[LNB]'He has a manager who is still at the helm and willing to put his neck on the line for the cause and a group of players prepared to do exactly the same for the manager.'[LNB] Should he stay or should he go now? The club also face a Premier League investigation into the transfer of Michael Turner to Sunderland to see whether Charlton and Brentford were paid lower sell-on fees than they should have received.[LNB]Pearson witnessed a disappointing Hull performance, during which they suffered a series of costly refereeing decisions.[LNB]Referee Mike Jones running his first Premier League game since awarding Sunderland their beach ball-assisted goal against Liverpool awarded Burnley a 20th-minute penalty when Stephen Hunt made minimal contact with Tyrone Mears. Graham Alexander converted.[LNB] Game over: Graham Alexander crashes home Burnley's second[LNB]Things got worse for Brown after the break. First, Paul McShane reacted with petulance to being subbed, kicking over a pile of water bottles and throwing one aggressively away. [LNB]'Paul is an excitable character and his excitement spilled over,' said Brown. [LNB]Then Jones disallowed a superb 68th-minute free-kick by Geovanni for an innocuous push in the wall by Seyi Olofinjana. The Brazilian was sent off two minutes later for lunging at Steven Fletcher. The game was all over in the 77th minute as Kevin McDonald teed up Alexander, who struck from 30 yards.[LNB] Brown but not out: 'My players are still behind me,' declares Hull City bossBurnley 2 Hull 0: Alexander at the double to heap pressure on Phil BrownHull launching £31m probe into ALL their transfers in past two yearsConvict King should get extra FA ban, blasts Wigan chairman WhelanALL THE HULL CITY
