Bullard makes Tigers pledge

Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard has vowed to prove his worth to the Tigers and insists he can be a key man for the club for many years to come. Bullard managed just 37 minutes of action following his club-record £5million move from Fulham in January before suffering the second serious knee injury of his career. The 30-year-old underwent further surgery at the hands of Dr Richard Steadman, who saved his career while he was with the Cottagers, and is expected to be sidelined until at least September. Bullard accepts many of the club's fans will be sceptical over what his future contribution can entail, but he has every confidence he will be able to prove his doubters wrong. Support He said: "I just want to give Hull all the support they've given me. Because I'm not involved, it feels like I'm letting people down. I'm on pay-back already. "I know the fans will think, 'he's had an injury there before and now we've gone and signed a wrong one'. "I can understand that but I can only prove to them that it's not the same problem. "I know after last time that I will come back. "When I signed the contract it was because I wanted to be a Hull player. It's four-and-a-half years and more, so long as they want me."
