Brown welcomes siege mentality
Hull City boss Phil Brown wants his side to take the resentment of their bitter Arsenal defeat out on Wigan on Sunday.[LNB] The Tigers crashed out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening as William Gallas scored a controversial late winner from what replays showed to be an offside position.[LNB]There was further ill-feeling following the final whistle with allegations from Brown that Gunners ace Cesc Fabregas, who was not playing, spat at his assistant Brian Horton.[LNB]Fabregas has strenuously denied the allegations, while the Tigers are sticking to their guns with the FA getting in touch with the club to ascertain their views before deciding if further action is required.[LNB]Brown must re-focus the minds of his players to their Premier League survival fight with Sunday's trip to the JJB Stadium, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1, next on the agenda.[LNB]Siege mentalityHe told the Hull Daily Mail: "Collectively there was a siege mentality that made a feeling of anger and being hard done to.[LNB]"It was like someone going to work, putting in a great shift and not getting paid for it when they're done. That's the feeling I am talking about.[LNB]"It was a hard-fought, well-organised performance, coupled with that little bit of quality we've been looking for.[LNB]"We showed that type of fighting spirit we need for the rest of the season and I was proud of my players.[LNB]"The result was hard to take but I'm buoyed from what I saw."
