Brown happy to wait for Campbell

Hull City boss Phil Brown insists he is happy to be patient as he seeks to sign Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell. The Tigers agreed a £6million fee for Campbell last month, but have yet to hold discussions with the player. Campbell, who impressed on loan at the KC Stadium during the 2007/08 season, is currently on holiday after playing for England at the European Under 21 Championship in Sweden. He is due to return next week and Brown has no problem in waiting for the chance to convince Campbell to return to Hull. North East rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland have also been linked with bids, but Brown is optimistic the 21-year-old will opt to join the Tigers. "I had the chance to meet his Dad again before he went away and we're still optimistic" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "Fraizer deserves his holiday after a long season, but we'll meet up when he returns on 16th July. "Hopefully that will be a positive day in negotiations with Fraizer and his father, but we're prepared to wait. "We're happy to be patient. There's a lot of work going on in the background and while the headlines might not be as exciting, we're making sure everything will be in place."
