Brown eyes Fortune alternatives

Phil Brown has admitted he may have to look at other options if he is unable to sign Marc-Antoine Fortune in the next two days. Hull City are vying with Celtic to sign the Nancy striker, while West Ham are also reported to have thrown their hat in the ring. Nancy announced over the weekend that the Tigers were 'clear favourites' in the race for his signature but Brown concedes there have been no new developments. He is keen to sort out a deal quickly but insists he would be prepared to turn his gaze elsewhere. "It hasn't moved forward in the last 48 hours," said the Hull manager. "He has an offer from us and an offer from Celtic and someone has said something about West Ham. "That is news to us but if so, so be it. We are now in a three-horse race as opposed to a two-horse race. "We are confident we are still in the pole position but these things are always a concern when they are not done and dusted. "If there is not a decision in the next 24 or 48 hours we are going to have to move on to other players." Campbell Brown is keen to improve his strike-force and hopes to push through a deal for Fraizer Campbell following his return from the European Under 21 Championship. Manchester United accepted a £6million offer from Hull earlier this month but Campbell has not had time to think about his future while on international duty. "We have been in constant contact with Manchester United, Fraizer and his father, and hopefully we can now sit down and draft a deal before he goes on his family holiday," said Brown. Michael Owen is another target for Hull and Brown remains eager to initiate talks with the Newcastle forward, who becomes a free agent on Wednesday. He explained: "It would be remiss of me to say we have spoken to anyone with regard to Michael, he has had a contract to honour. "But once 1st July comes along hopefully that will change."
