Brown dampens Viduka talk

Hull City manager Phil Brown has distanced himself from rumours linking the club with a move for striker Mark Viduka. Brown has made no secret of his plans to bolster his frontline this summer and it has been suggested he could turn to out-of-contract Viduka. The burly Australian is currently without a club after his previous deal at relegated Newcastle United expired at the end of last season. Viduka's agent, Steve Kutner, recently claimed the forward is weighing up offers from two Premier League clubs, but Brown has insisted Hull are not in for his services. "Mark is out of contract and therefore a free agent and able to talk to anybody. I've not had a conversation with Mark or his agent," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "He hasn't worked since he finished with Newcastle at the end of the season. "If we were interested in Mark Viduka, we'd pick the phone up and speak to Mark Viduka because he's not attached to any football club and that hasn't happened." Asked if it was likely to happen, Brown replied: "No."
