Brown but not out: 'My players are still behind me,' declares Hull City boss

Phil Brown's defiant proclamation that his Hull City players are 'one million per cent behind me' looked even more unreal as they slumped to another defeat yesterday. [LNB]He had to listen to the taunts of the Burnley fans singing 'You're getting sacked in the morning.' And the men with the axe, owner Russell Bartlett and new chairman Adam Pearson, were at Turf Moor to see Hull beaten by a superior side. [LNB] Pay the penalty: Alexander scores from the spot[LNB] One of those 'million per-centers,' Paul McShane, threw a major tantrum when he was substituted in the second half, kicking over a tray of water bottles and snatching at his track suit top.[LNB] 'He's an excitable lad,' said Brown, who refused to discuss his situation and instead blamed referee Mike Jones for a series ofdecisions he said cost his side the match, including a disallowed goal by Geovanni. [LNB]No shame in defeat: Hull manager remains defiant[LNB] He also claimed the penalty from which Burnley opened the scoring should never have been awarded and that Hull should have had a penalty of their own. Brown said: [LNB]'What went for us was the commitment of the players in the situation we are in. I don't think anybody can question that. I didn't see any infringement when the goal was disallowed and I didn't see anything when Tyrone Mears went down [for Burnley's penalty]. [LNB]'I hope the referee watches Match of the Day and if he thinks he has made the right decisions he can ring me on Monday morning. [LNB]'You keep calm because of the commitment of the players and judging by the way they addressed today, we will be all right and we will be in the Premier League next season.' [LNB]Brown was applauded by Hull fans at the final whistle and was embraced by Burnley manager Owen Coyle, who said: [LNB]'The last thing Brownie needs from me is sympathy. He is a good manager and a battler.'[LNB] Burnley 2 Hull 0: Alexander at the double to heap pressure on Phil BrownHull launching £31m probe into ALL their transfers in past two yearsConvict King should get extra FA ban, blasts Wigan chairman WhelanPREMIER LEAGUE LIVE: Red card record, Degen and Carragher sent off in Liverpool defeat, 10-man Sunderland deny Hammers and Pompey celebrate impressive winHULL CITY NEWS AND VIEWS FROM AROUND THE NET[LNB] [LNB]
