Brown backs Ashbee to return
Hull club captain Ian Ashbee is determined to return to football at the top level, according to manager Phil Brown.
Ashbee looks set to miss most of the season after travelling to the United States for knee surgery last month.
The 33-year-old, who suffered the injury in a game against Aston Villa in May, has overcome a career-threatening bone condition and major surgery in the past.
Brown said: "Three years ago he was told he was finished and I think he will prove people wrong again. I'm certainly looking forward to working with him again."
