Hull City boss Phil Brown has confirmed the Tigers' interest in Newcastle striker Michael Owen. The England international is set to become a free agent at the end of the month, with his contract at St James' Park set to expire. With the Magpies having slipped into the Championship at the end of last season, Owen is keen to secure a move back into the top flight. Numerous clubs have been linked with the former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker, but Hull are among the first to publicly admit to being in the hunt. Tigers chairman Paul Duffen revealed on Sunday that he was hopeful a deal could be done 'on the right terms' and Brown has now reiterated the club's ambition to reach an agreement. "It's something that has been sounded out as a possibility, but, as yet, there has been no offer put to Michael," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "He has got a proven track record as a goalscorer and that's an area we are keen to strengthen, but it would have to be on the right terms."
