Boss hails Bees

Hull boss Nigel Pearson paid tribute to Brentford after the League One outfit secured a deserved 2-1 Carling Cup win over his side on Tuesday night. However, he was distinctly unimpressed with his own side's efforts. Mark Cullen gave the Tigers the lead, but a superb free-kick from Robbie Simpson and Marcus Bean's late diving header secured Brentford's passage to the next round "Brentford showed a lot of desire in both boxes and I can't take anything away from them," said Pearson. "I wasn't happy with the second goal because people weren't tracking their runners, but based on that performance there is no quick fix for us. "There were some basic errors that we have to rectify. If players have a hang-up about going away from home then I have to rectify that."
