Boateng - Tigers set for scrap

Dutch midfielder George Boateng insists the Hull City players are committed to trying to avoid relegation.[LNB] The Tigers currently find themselves in 16th place, three points above the drop zone, but the ex-Villa and Middlesbrough man insists the players do not solely care about money.[LNB]"The manager is asking that we give all we have and he cannot fault us for trying because he knows if we do that, we have a chance," Boateng told the Hull Daily Mail.[LNB]"People look at the Premier League players with their cars and their houses and whatever and think that is all we are about. [LNB]"But out there, when you are fit playing, sweating, giving everything with the lads, that's what we are paid for and I am enjoying it. I love it."[LNB]Hull started the season in blistering form, claiming the scalps of Arsenal and Tottenham while running Manchester United very close at Old Trafford.[LNB]Results have dropped since then and the Tigers have managed only two wins in their last 27 league matches. [LNB]They gained a point at Anfield in a 2-2 draw in December and will be looking to go one better this Saturday when Liverpool visit the KC Stadium.[LNB]"When we play against Liverpool no one will give us a chance but we can surprise them," believes Boateng.[LNB]"We have been to places where people gave us no chance, like Arsenal where we won. What were the odds there?[LNB]"Hopefully Tuesday's game (against Arsenal) will have taken a lot of energy out of them but I look forward to it and the team does."[LNB]
