The Hull City defender spent eight years at White Hart Lane, and won his one and only England cap while there, before leaving last summer to join the Humberside club.[LNB]He became Hull's record signing at the time but suffered a serious thigh injury after just three games and has cut a disconsolate figure ever since.[LNB]He has been sidelined since September but returned in last week's FA Cup tie at Sheffield United and is now focused on taking out his frustrations on Spurs when Harry Redknapp's team visit the KC Stadium.[LNB]The defender admits he is shocked at Spurs' plight this season and wants them to survive, but he will not shed a tear if Phil Brown's men boost their own survival hopes with a much-needed win.[LNB]Gardner, 27, said: "I've been looking forward to this game on the fixture list for a while. Now I just hope we get a good result.[LNB]"Sometimes it can get you down being injured because you just want to play football. It's not just a job, it's a hobby too and I want to be out there showing the qualities I possess, so it's frustrating.[LNB]"I'm shocked at where Tottenham are in the league. Very, very shocked. It's a club that's got an immense amount of quality there. They have international players throughout the team.[LNB]"It's a very strange turn of events. They have brought in all these players and things just have not gelled.[LNB]"But if Harry Redknapp's not the man to turn things round then I don't know who is. I had some happy days at Tottenham.[LNB]"It was a good experience but I had to be brave and made a decision. As a team in general they failed to deliver during my time and now Hull is a new chapter for me.[LNB]"I would be sad if a team like Spurs got relegated. The Premier League needs a team like Spurs – but I won't be that sorry if we win and take three points off them." [LNB]
