Town fans to blame players
12 Dec 2006 - 13:10:14
Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Matt Glennon has urged disgruntled fans to blame the players and not manager Peter Jackson for the recent run of disappointing results.
The Terriers were pre-season favourites for promotion but a seven-game winless streak has seen the West Yorkshire club freefall down the table to 17th place.
"Peter Jackson is getting a lot of stick but we're the ones who aren't performing on a weekly basis," Glennon told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
"We have to look at ourselves in the dressing room and realise we have to start showing the quality which earned us a play-off place last season.
"That's where we should be. At the moment we are conceding too many goals and we aren't scoring enough.
"That's not down to the manager because he's picking different formations and we still aren't getting anything, so I don't see what else Peter Jackson can do.
"He is picking our best team to do the job and we are not performing."
