Town decide to axe seven

Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark has allowed seven out-of-contract players to leave the Galpharm Stadium.

Of the eight players whose deals expired at the end of the season, only Andy Holdsworth remains in talks over extending his stay with the Terriers.

Striker Danny Cadamarteri rejected a new deal and has left the League One club, while long-serving fellow frontman Andy Booth has now retired.

Defenders Dominik Werling and Dan Codman, midfielders Jon Worthington and Malvin Kamara and striker Danny Broadbent have also left the club.

"All of the lads in the squad have been brilliant since I arrived at the club but sometimes decisions have to be made in football," Clark told the club's official website.

"It's not the nicest part of the job but, as I've said before, the only constant in football is change and these lads have to go and look for pastures new now.

"They certainly leave with our best wishes and a big thank-you for their contribution to the club since we have been here.

"If anyone calls to ask me about the lads who are leaving, I will certainly give them good references."
