Terriers tie up Trotman loan

Preston North End defender Neal Trotman has agreed a loan switch to Huddersfield Town until the end of the campaign.

The 22-year-old former Burnley trainee moved from Oldham to Deepdale in a £500,000 transfer two years ago but a knee injury has hampered his progress.

He has been loaned out to Colchester United and Southampton in the last 12 months but has only started two matches for Preston.

Terriers boss Lee Clark is pleased with his latest piece of business, saying: "Neal is a player of the same ilk as Krystian Pearce.

"He's very powerful and quick and attacks the ball very well in both penalty areas with his head and his feet.

"He's what you'd call a proper, out-and-out defender. He gives us further good options in the backline."
