Terriers star pens new contract

Published: 02 Jul 2009 - 13:27:04

The 25-year-old, who arrived at the Galpharm Stadium from Ipswich last summer for an undisclosed fee, has committed himself to the club until the summer of 2012 and believes good times lie ahead for Lee Clark's side. Roberts told the club's official website: "I know where this club is going and so actually signing my contract is a big day for me." Roberts added: "Believe me when I say the chairman here is ultra-ambitious and I cannot see any reason why this club cannot be in the top flight in the not-too-distant future. I genuinely mean that. I'm not just saying that to get the fans going, I believe it in my heart. "The chairman is so keen for success and the players who have joined during the summer can all play at a higher level. "However, we all have to take it one step at a time and the first step is to get out of this division by the end of the season."
