Terriers sign Robinson
03 Jul 2009 - 12:17:13
Huddersfield Town have captured Watford striker Theo Robinson for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the Galpharm Stadium in a move to seek regular first-team football.
Robinson spent time on-loan at Southend United last season, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances.
"I want to play regularly and I believe that the club can progress to the Championship, which I want to be a part of," Robinson told the club's official website.
"Having seen some of the other Huddersfield players in the game against Southend last season I know we have a great squad here and I think these new additions mean we have a real chance to push into the league above."
Huddersfield boss Lee Clark explained the signing will compensate for the loss of Danny Cadamarteri.
"We lost Danny Cadamarteri over the summer and we needed another explosive striker, which is exactly the type of player that Theo is, but he also has a good goal-scoring record to go with it," Clark revealed.
"I am very happy with the three new strikers we now have at the club ready for the new season - Theo, Robbie Simpson and Lee Novak. They complement each other very well."
