Huddersfield Town are keen to snap up loan defender Frank Sinclair on a permanent basis this summer.
The 35-year-old has been released by Burnley and Terriers boss Andy Ritchie is desperate to bring in the experienced stopper on a new one-year contract.
He told the Huddersfield Examiner: "Frank has versatility and lots of experience.
"He can play right-back or centre-back and while he may be 35, he has kept himself in great condition and remains a real athlete.
"Frank has played at the highest level, but he's a very down-to-earth type and he's more than willing to impart his knowledge to the younger lads we have here."
Meanwhile, the Terriers have allowed seven players to leave the club at the end of their current contracts.
Defenders Martin McIntosh, John McCombe and Adam Wilson, midfielders Mark Hudson, Adnan Ahmed and James Hand and striker John McAliskey have all been shown the door by Ritchie.
