Terriers complete Kay swoop

Huddersfield Town have signed midfielder Antony Kay on a two-year contract from League One rivals Tranmere Rovers.

The 26-year-old had been with Rovers for two seasons, scoring 19 goals in 96 appearances for the Prenton Park club.

Terriers boss Lee Clark told the club's official website: "We had seen Antony play and identified him as a target well before he scored twice against us for Tranmere in March.

"We knew he would strengthen that position and we knew he would be a good acquisition for us.

"He is a strong, physical player and we have identified that we need that presence in the side - particularly away from home when you are not allowed to play your football all the time."
