Ternent leaves Terriers
04 Nov 2008 - 10:14:43
Veteran former Burnley and Bury boss Stan Ternent has left Huddersfield Town by mutual consent with immediate effect.
The 62-year-old had only been in charge at the Galpharm Stadium for just over six months but was allowed to sign 11 new players in the summer, including Keigan Parker, Jim Goodwin, Andy Butler, Chris Lucketti, Michael Flynn, Gary Roberts and David Unsworth.
However, the Terriers have made a disappointing start to the campaign, winning only four of their opening 15 League One matches.
Assistant boss Ronnie Jepson and first-team coach Mick Docherty have also left the club as has vice-chairman Andrew Watson, who was instrumental in bringing Ternent to Town.
A brief statement on the club's official website read: "Huddersfield Town has some great supporters and tremendous potential as well as great history and the search is now on to find someone who can harness these elements and take the club forward."
