Huddersfield Town have confirmed the appointment of Stan Ternent as their new manager, following the recent exit of Andy Ritchie.
Former Bury and Burnley boss Ternent has left his job as number two at Derby County to take charge of the Terriers, with former Town striker Ronnie Jepson becoming his assistant.
Chairman Ken Davy told the club's official website: "Stan is very experienced and his pedigree at this level speaks for itself.
"For our centenary year we were determined to appoint someone with a successful record in the third tier of English football and his promotions to the second tier with Bury and Burnley meant that he stood head and shoulders above the other applicants.
"As well as having been there and done it, he has all the necessary qualifications and credentials to take Town to the next level.
"Our ultimate aim next season is promotion to the Championship and Stan has all the necessary traits.
"As for Ronnie Jepson, his desire to be at Huddersfield Town was obvious when he applied for the managerial role.
"His relationship with the club stretches back over a decade and, having previously played for and worked with Stan at Bury, Burnley and Gillingham, all parties are convinced there is no-one better to team up with Stan."
