Boss Andy Ritchie admitted that his Huddersfield Town side's 1-0 home win against Millwall was not pretty to watch.
A first-half penalty by Luke Beckett proved to be decisive, with the Terriers building on a positive display in their FA Cup fifth round defeat at Chelsea at the weekend.
Ritchie said: "It wasn't very pretty, but all that mattered was the result. I think there were a few tired players from chasing Chelsea at the weekend.
"It was a bit ugly, but we managed to get the three points.
"I'm very pleased to win, but the players are disappointed because they thought they should have played better, which is a good thing.
"If we have to be ugly to grind out results then that's what we will do."
