Huddersfield Town have confirmed that former Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has made an offer to buy the League One club.
Terriers chairman Ken Davy has held preliminary discussions with Pearson, who is widely credited with saving Hull from administration when he took over in 2003.
Pearson worked under Peter Ridsdale at Leeds United before taking over the Tigers.
The 42-year-old was linked with a buyout at Elland Road after selling his controlling stake in the Championship club to Paul Duffen during the summer.
"What I can confirm is that we have received an initial proposal in respect of the club to which we will respond in due course," Davy told the club's official website.
"We will keep you updated as and when further developments occur."
