Huddersfield Town captain Jonathan Worthington has agreed a new two-year contract extension which will keep him at the Galpharm Stadium until summer 2009.
Worthington, 23, has made just 20 appearances during an injury-ravaged season, but has signed a new deal with the managerless League One club.
"I wouldn't have signed a further two years to my deal if I didn't think that we would be in the Championship within that time," he told the club's official website.
"I am an ambitious person and I want to play in the Championship wearing a Huddersfield Town shirt."
