    More woe for Worthington

    26 Feb 2008 - 13:24:54

Huddersfield Town captain Jon Worthington has suffered yet another injury in what is turning out to be a terrible season for the 24-year-old.

The Terriers stalwart, who has spent his entire career with the club, picked up an ankle ligament injury during Saturday's defeat at Gillingham - his first game back after a hamstring problem.

Worthington, who also endured a lengthy spell on the sidelines in the first half of the campaign with a groin injury which required surgery, could be set for another four weeks out of action with his latest problem.

Town physio Lee Martin told the Huddersfield Examiner: "Worthy took a whack which, at the time, didn't seem too bad.

"He played on until the end of the game, when the joint started to swell up. By Sunday, the bruising had started to come out.

"We're carrying out intensive treatment on the joint which will speed up the recovery process, but Jon still faces another spell out."
