Mirfin out of derby
03 Oct 2006 - 15:00:22
A thigh injury will prevent Huddersfield Town defender David Mirfin playing in Saturday's Yorkshire derby against Bradford City.
The problem kept Mirfin out of last weekend's 2-2 draw with Bournemouth and has shown little sign of improvement in the past few days.
Terriers boss Peter Jackson told the Daily Examiner: "Mirf took a knock during the Tranmere match and then felt the muscle go when he struck a ball during training last Friday.
"At this stage Mirf's having some treatment and ice baths, and we've got to be careful, because a similar injury last season kept him out six weeks."
However, Town should be boosted by the return of Andy Booth and Danny Schofield at Valley Parade, after their respective illness and groin problems.
