Huddersfield Town manager Peter Jackson praised teenager David Mirfin for his part in Sunday's 2-0 win at York City.
The 18-year-old defender was forced to play up front against the Minstermen because of injuries to Jon Stead and Andy Booth but responded with a late goal in the hard-earned victory.
"Mirfin used to play up front when he was in the juniors. He's quick, I knew that, and he's also a big strong lad for an 18-year-old," Jackson said after the win that keeps the Terriers on the promotion trail.
"He really is a terrific prospect. It is important that we get goals from other players because we have two strikers with 28 goals between them and both of them were missing.
"The most pleasing thing is that we kept another clean sheet. Our defensive record has been much better recently and that is reflected in our results.
"It was a fantastic game - exactly what you would expect from a Yorkshire derby. It was very tight and both teams had to work extremely hard for the full 90 minutes."
