Jevons blow for Terriers
13 Mar 2008 - 13:50:22
Huddersfield Town striker Phil Jevons has been ruled out for up to a month with a torn calf muscle.
The ten-goal striker picked up the problem during the opening minutes of Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Hartlepool United.
"It's a real sickener both for Phil and the team and it compounds what was a miserable Tuesday evening," manager Andy Ritchie told the club's official website.
"It's still too early to tell how serious the injury is but it is likely he'll miss anywhere from two to four weeks.
"I'm quite prepared to play Luke Beckett and Andy Booth up front together even though, as everyone knows, I am not a great fan of that partnership as I feel they are quite similar players.
"We also have the option of sticking Malvin Kamara up front to give us that pace, but I'm not sure we should disrupt him considering how well he's doing on the right wing at the moment."
