Wallace boost for Terriers
Huddersfield defender Murray Wallace's dismissal in Saturday's home draw against Charlton has been overturned and the Scot will be available for the Capital One Cup clash with Nottingham Forest.
Town launched an appeal on Sunday and an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing upheld the club's claim that Wallace had been wrongfully sent off for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Captain Lee Peltier, struggling with a groin injury, played for an hour against Charlton and will be monitored, while striker James Vaughan, who made his first appearance of the season off the bench following a calf injury, is closing in on his first start.
Defender Anthony Gerrard (calf), midfielder Oscar Gobern (toe), plus strikers Martin Paterson (knee) and Joe Lolley (hip) remain doubtful.
Henri Lansbury could make his return from injury for Nottingham Forest.
Lansbury, who last week signed a new three-year contract, has yet to make an appearance this term after suffering a knee injury during a pre-season friendly against Porto B last month. He was not involved against Reading on Saturday, despite coming through a practice match unscathed, but Reds boss Stuart Pearce plans to get the midfielder back out on the pitch on Tuesday night.
"We hope that he will have an involvement. That is the plan at this moment in time," said Pearce ahead of the second round tie. "We are hoping that he will get some match time against Huddersfield."
Forest's long-term injury victims are edging closer to first-team contention. Central defenders Jamaal Lascelles (knee) and Kelvin Wilson (calf) and midfielder David Vaughan (hamstring) also played with Lansbury in last Thursday's practice match.
