Holdsworth pens Town deal
24 Apr 2007 - 12:47:07
Huddersfield Town manager Andy Ritchie believes Andy Holdsworth can be converted into a successful midfielder after the 23-year-old signed a two-year contract extension with the Terriers.
Holdsworth has already made 172 appearances for Town, most of them at right-back, but Ritchie is keen to move him higher up the pitch.
"Andy was one of the players I knew more about when I arrived here, which is testament to his reputation inside football," the Town boss told the Huddersfield Examiner.
"I know he's recognised as a right-back, but within the club there's a school of thought that he may mature into a holding midfielder.
"We played him there against Millwall and to say he'd just come back from injury, I was delighted with the level of his performance and the way he lasted the game."
