Goodwin set for imminent return

The 27-year-old Irishman underwent an exploratory knee operation on Monday, but has been given the all-clear to resume as normal following a short break. Goodwin, a free signing from Scunthorpe in June 2008, was a regular last season, making a total of 39 appearances and scoring his only goal against his former club in December.
