Huddersfield Town have signed former Scunthorpe United midfielder Jim Goodwin on a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old was allowed to leave the Iron at the end of last season and has chosen to head to the Terriers despite interest from a number of other clubs.
Town boss Stan Ternent told the club's official website: "Jim is a real winner and a very competitive midfield player who is a proper Championship performer.
"There were others in for him, but he's seen the club, noted the support and taken on board our ambitions.
"He knows we want promotion and he's keen to be a part of it."
