End of road for Town veterans

Huddersfield Town have released David Unsworth and told Chris Lucketti to look for a new club.

Veteran central defender Lucketti rejected a loan move to Brighton last week, while former Everton star Unsworth has not played for the Terriers since October.

"Chris isn't part of my long-term plans for this club," confirmed Town boss Lee Clark.

"The club have come to a financial agreement with David to terminate his contract early, so he now leaves us.

"I've had a chat with Chris and we have an understanding that it's best for both him and the club for him to find somewhere else.

"I have a lot of respect for him, he's a proud man and a very good senior pro. It has all been very amicable.

"He has an excellent attitude and is a great example to the younger players on how to look after yourself and carry on playing at an older age."
