Clark seeks solid start

Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark is calling on his troops to get off to the best possible start ahead of their League One opener against Southend United at the weekend.

He wants the side to demonstrate invention and flair but most importantly the former Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham midfielder wants success.

Speaking to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, he said: "I want us to be an entertaining team, to pass the ball, be inventive and to play without fear, but most of all I want us to win.

"If we can win by adopting those thoughts and ideas I've given to the squad then so much the better, but the be all and end all is winning games.

"Sometimes you have to win when you're not playing so well by digging in and by all 11 out there on the pitching fighting for each other."
