Clark denies Clarets link
15 Jan 2010 - 14:08:31
Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark has reassured Terriers fans of his commitment to the club, after being linked with the managerial post at Premier League Burnley.
The Turf Moor club have since recruited former Sheffield Wednesday chief Brian Laws to take over the reins from Owen Coyle, prompting Clark to issue a statement to affirm that he intends on remaining at the Galpharm Stadium for the long haul.
"Just to clarify the point again, I had absolutely no contact with Burnley Football Club. However, I feel like I have to put the record straight," Clark told Town's official website.
"On the day that I first heard my name mentioned with the managerial post at Burnley, I didn't feel like I needed to make a comment - after all, I had not been in contact with the club.
"As the story gained momentum, I was busy moving into a new home in Huddersfield. That is an indication in itself that I don't plan on going anywhere.
"I don't want my loyalty to Huddersfield Town being questioned."
