Clark replaced Stan Ternent as permanent manager at Huddersfield last December and has steered his new-look squad up to sixth in League One on the back of three wins in their last four league matches.

Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner: "The lads are a great bunch and I have an excellent relationship with them.

"They know at times when I have to tell them things they might not want to hear that I'm saying it with passion and from the heart.

"I never ever tell them lies. I tell them exactly what I'm thinking and then they know exactly where I'm coming from.

"I never hide anything from them, good or bad, and I think they appreciate that."
