Terriers supporters urged to play ball

The Terriers implemented the 'multi-ball system' during the home league game with Stockport at the end of last month, but the referee withdrew the option at half-time due to the number of balls thrown back that interfered with play. A club statement said: "As a result the club is asking fans who happen to get hold of a football during the game to simply return it to the nearest ball-boy or steward - please do not throw it back onto the pitch!" The 'multi-ball system' is utilised at various Football League clubs and allows play to continue almost immediately once the ball goes out for a throw-in, corner or dead ball.
