Terriers land Colgan

Huddersfield have signed experienced goalkeeper Nick Colgan on a short-term deal until the end of the season. The 37-year-old spent a spell on loan at the Galpharm Stadium from Blue Square Bet Premier side Grimsby in October following an injury to first-choice Alex Smithies. With Smithies having recently had an operation to correct a knee cartilage problem, manager Lee Clark has signed Colgan as cover for Ian Bennett. He told the club`s official website: "Nick fitted right into the group when he joined us on loan earlier in the season and with Alex unfortunately set to miss at least a month, it was an easy decision to bring Nick back in for the rest of the season." Colgan will go straight into the squad for Saturday`s League One game at home to Colchester.
