Terriers coy over Clarke interest

Clarke is out of contract at Roots Hall this summer and Huddersfield have reportedly joined Charlton in the race to sign the 27-year-old former Blackpool centre-half. But Town's chief executive Nigel Clibbens told the Examiner: "We are not going to join in the speculation over players until we can officially say where we are. "Peter Clarke is a free agent at the end of the month and he has been linked with our club and Charlton Athletic, but until he has discussed his situation with Southend then we have to wait."
