Terriers boss hails Clarke

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark paid tribute to captain and matchwinner Peter Clarke after he struck late on to secure three crucial promotion points at resurgent Brentford. Defender Clarke struck the only goal of the game deep into injury time to break Bees hearts, smashing home a loose ball in the box as the home side failed to clear. Clark said: "I think it's quite fitting that our skipper has stepped up and won the game for us when it mattered. That's the man all over. He's been a tremendous signing for me and he deserves all he achieves for his determination to overcome setbacks and his desire to drive forward. "He's been a magnificent player for us, and it's been a good week for us. "We stayed together down in Bristol before the game (a 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers on Saturday), and we've taken six points with two clean sheets, and the lads have got to know each other a lot better. "Now we have two massive home games and we have to make sure we make the most of those."
