Terrier face Naysmith wait

Huddersfield are waiting to learn the timescale of Gary Naysmith's injury after being told the defender requires surgery to resolve a toe problem. The Scotland international sustained the injury in last month's 5-1 Carling Cup defeat at Everton and has missed the last two matches. Terriers manager Lee Clark has confirmed Naysmith, 31, needs an operation, but is still waiting for the specialist's report. Huddersfield pulled off a coup when Naysmith opted to drop down a division to join them on a free transfer this summer instead of renewing his contract at Sheffield United. But his loss has been softened by the form of teenager Liam Ridehalgh, who has impressed against Charlton and Bournemouth after stepping in as cover.
