Huddersfield assistant manager Terry McDermott praised his players for coming through a tough test against Peterborough in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The Terriers hung on for a 3-2 win suffering after three defeats in the space of a week. Lee Clark's side raced into a 3-0 half-time lead thanks to Graham Carey and a brace from Anthony Pilkington before they resisted a fightback from Posh who netted through Aaron McLean and Mark Little. "We have probably had the hardest draw in the Northern Section but we played well in the first half and it would not have been an injustice had we gone on to win 5-0," said McDermott. "We have a lot of good players at this club but we haven`t had the rub of the green. "The players showed a lot of character because they were under pressure after three defeats. We played some superb football in the first half and then battled hard to get the win after the break."
