Vaughan concern for Terriers

Huddersfield striker James Vaughan remains a major doubt for the home game with Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Leading goalscorer Vaughan missed last weekend's win at Birmingham due to a calf injury and is still struggling, so Danny Ward could continue alongside Nahki Wells up front.

Defender Joel Lynch is battling to overcome a knock that forced him off at half-time against City and if he fails to make it, Peter Clarke could make his first start since November following a knee injury.

Boss Mark Robins has no other new injury or suspension worries, while midfielder Keith Southern, plus strikers Martin Paterson and Sean Scannell are among those pushing for recalls.

Sheffield Wednesday will be without midfielder Kieran Lee.

Lee sustained a hamstring injury in the midweek home defeat to Derby and was replaced by Jeremy Helan, who could return to the starting line-up.

Leon Best (Blackburn) and Gary Gardner (Aston Villa) made their debuts for the Owls on Tuesday night, while another recent loan signing, Sam Hutchinson (Chelsea), stepped off the bench and is hoping for his first start.

Winger Jermaine Johnson sits out the last game of his four-match ban, while Jose Semedo (fractured fibula), Reda Johnson (hip), Lewis Buxton (groin), Oguchi Onyewu (calf), Martin Taylor (knee) and Kamil Zayatte (ankle) are all still out.
